Darwin Day Weekend 2014 Skeptics in the Pub

Darwin and WallaceI’ve reserved our usual room at the Railway Club for another Saturday night event to celebrate Charles Darwin’s birthday (a few days after his actual birthdate, Feb. 12), and also to remember the contributions of naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace, since it was the 100th anniversary of Wallace’s death on November 7. In case you’re not familiar with Wallace’s work, he is known for independently discovering evolution through natural selection, and his theory of it was published, along with a description of Darwin’s own theory, in 1858.

If you can’t often make it to our regular weeknight get-togethers, maybe a weekend event like this one will be more convenient for you. Join us for another evening of skeptical fun, food, drinks, and conversation in the Railway Club’s back bar. Come out and discuss skepticism-related activities in Vancouver with your fellow science enthusiasts, rationalists, and critical thinkers, and maybe meet some new friends. If you arrive late, let the doorman know you’re there for the skeptics’ event so they don’t make you pay the cover charge.

You can RSVP to this event on Facebook or Meetup.
